12/23/25 - as the year comes to an end, i'd really love to highlight this amazing eclectic work made by two people i have never heard before. this really sounds like nothing else you'll ever hear this year so i suggest you get into it!! its been in my constant rotation for a good month now and its awesome that it also dropped on my birthday coincidentally. this is a neat showcase of creativity and production while also tackling themes of black struggle and portrayal. very fun and cool shit
12/23/25 - this is it, this is future pop bible. this is the pop music that needs to be made all over, jane has perfected the fun pop sound thats fresh and so groovy to listen. not a single song here is boring and every single song here leaves you with so much feelings of love.

11/11/25 - though i love Around the Fur and White Pony, deftones didnt really click for me personally, maybe i thought the vocals croon a little more than usual? some sections drag on for too long?, but for this album it wastes no time getting you into it. it berades you with so many guitar riffs and sections, and Chino's vocals here are amazing. this was a fun experience to listen throughout and that album cover is so fucking gorgeous

11/10/25 - did not expect to dig this heavy. i was expecting an entirely different genre but my god man, this production and rapping is top tier, so fucking fun and so nerdy!! the whole concept of Re-Anna is hilarious and amazing lol. this has been in my rotation for a good week now
11/10/25 - i suprisingly really liked this one!! i was highly skeptical looking at the features but theres so many great highlights here, and its so nice to see danny finding his own lane and trying new things. fucking loved ISSBROKIE's verse on Whatever the Case, the hook on Copycats, the introspectiveness in Book of Daniel, one of his deepest lyrically and his most fun production wise!! this is definitely not for everyone though, so i suggest going with it with a more open mind than usual. i really loved the freedom given to him and his collaborators here, giving trans people a platform is also awesome!!
11/10/25 - cannot fucking wait for this new album of hers, this is BIBLICAL levels of pop production and my god that BRIDGE??? holy shit man. shes here to stay and i genuinely hope she becomes a major star later on in her career. this is fucking bonkers

11/1/25 - these beats are so addictive and good, most of these tracks have been on repeat for a good week now. lucy bedroque will definitely be those people whose name will be ringing along in the future years. Unmusique is one of my favorites from this year as well.

10/24/25 - really fun EP!! very short but very cutesy!! very twee, i love the guitarwork on this one. the vocals are so soothing to the brain too! really needed this one actually. this was a really fun listen! also very cute cover
10/24/25 - to tell you the truth, i dont think we are getting music like this ever again. you could try to replicate it but that feeling of the late 2000s filled with lens flares and flash photography and actually moving in the club wont ever be brought back to the norm. this is such a product of its era in the best way possible. its sensual, groovy, sexy, poppy, you'll never hear anything like it now. just the drums in Gimme More will send you back 16 years.
10/24/25 - nina simone's vocals is one of the smoothest i've ever listened to, and this album does not hold back in her vocals at all! its such an amazing listen throughout, and its so powerful. "Sinnerman" being one of the best album closers ever. mixing blues, gospel, jazz to such a soulful result, and it was powerful to hear so much soul, its like nina's vocals go throughout your body to full-on give you the push to keep going in whatever hardship you're facing.

10/23/25 - my first entry for this log will be my current album of the year as of now. i've been a good fan of Geese for quite a while now. i discovered Cameron Winter's solo work last year, then i delved into 3D Country and it quickly became one of my favorite albums ever. now with this, its slowly creeping into a new favorite. its so refreshing and so fun, very rock and roll with this twist of something only my generation can offer. one of a kind album made by a one of a kind band that will definitely be one of the next greats ever.

When Harry Met Sally... (1989) - dir. Rob Reiner
12/23/25 - reading the news of rob reiner when it broke made me disheartened, because i never got the chance to interact with his work when he was alive, his many many years here on earth and i couldnt even get to take my time with just one film of his, and now i sit down and watch this amazing film and i broke down crying at the end. just the pure love and passion i knew Rob had when making this movie melts my heart, and it hurts now more than ever. especially in a world where hes gone, rest in peace rob reiner <3
Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist (2008) - dir. Peter Sollett
12/23/25 - after my third rewatch of this movie, im just now realizing that this might be just one of my favorite movies ever. definitely my favorite comfort movie, i dont know. theres no movie that feels anything like it to me, and its saddening to know that we will never get a movie thats like this ever again, you'll never have that feeling of a mid-budget romcom in the late 2000s starring michael cera and kat dennings set in the new york nightlife looking for a secret show by a band named "fluffy", you really just cant.
The Worst Person in the World (2021) - dir. Joachim Trier
12/23/25 - this is my first trier movie, and my first impression of this movie is i admire the silence this movie brings. the melancholy and drama that unfolds here is amazing, and the performance of every actor rocks my soul. really well written drama, and i related so much to Julie as a character, feeling lost. and can i say how beautiful the city of Oslo is? it just has the feeling that i think this film wouldnt work if it was set anywhere else.

Bugonia (2025) - dir. Yorgos Lanthimos
11/5/25 - cool watch, my first yorgos movie as well, and even though i admire the weirdness here, i find the overall messaging here pretty shallow, like yes the rich are bad, society is doomed, cool lens, but now what? again, there are moments here that made me gasp and made my mouth agape for a full 10 minutes, but i feel like there couldve been more done here. still a great experience though! ^^

Decision to Leave (2022) - dir. Park Chan-Wook
10/31/25 - no one's currently talking about No Other Choice right now, so im going to delve into the PCW rabbit hole, and this movie immediately creeped up to be one of my favorites. this is fucking amazing, definitely his most melancholic work and it works so well, this is so deep in themes and motifs and AGAIN! the camerawork!! fucking amazing, this is a masterpiece to me. cant wait.

No Other Choice (2025) - dir. Park Chan-Wook
10/30/25 - im so honored to live in a country with an early screening of this movie. its fucking amazing, this is my first PCW movie and my god was it an experience. i even had the pleasure to have the entire theater to myself!! i skipped a class for this and it was definitely. so fucking worth it. its definitely comedic and the camerawork in this movie has some shots ive never even seen before, its so innovative and says a lot about the current capitalist society we have right now.

10/26/25 - 10/29/25 - great experience!! my second film fest, and ive already documented my first half of my experience in my blog. please do read if you're interested!! really fun, and strengthened my love for film ^^

Longlegs (2023) - dir. Osgood Perkins
10/22/25 - really cozy watch for some reason, and this grounded supernatural thing this movie had going on was so good!! also that opening is great and nicholas cage is very nicholas cage here.

Good Morning (1959) - dir. Yasujiro Ozu
10/19/25 - this is my first ozu film! holy SHIT these colors pop so much, i was so in love with the wardrobe of these kids and i cannot believe these kids dress better than me in 2025. i also love how pure it is, the farting and the silence game between the two siblings made me smile so much. this movie is so simple and i cannot believe this was made in 1959.

About Love - Anton Chekhov
12/23/25 - read this in advance before i gave the book to someone i appreciate and i have to say, russian yearning is in a whole different plane.

Franny and Zooey - J.D Salinger
11/10/25 - shoutout to the copy i borrowed from my campus library thats from the 70s (even older!) anyways, i wouldve loved this book even more if it focused more than franny than zooey. i related to franny heavily and her thoughts and feelings made me deepen so much with her as a character.

Kafka on the Shore - Haruki Murakami
10/19/25 - one of the most batshit and morbidly beautiful books i have ever read, murakami's writing dosent work sometimes but in the characters he writes in a work like this, it works so well. its some of the most beautifully written grotesque shit ever at times, while also bringing up many themes of adolescence, growing up, being your own self and things like that. i think what drew me in more was the titular song. i searched up multiple remakes of the song described online and it never fails to make me emotional.
